GLP-1 Supported Holistic Weight Loss + Health Restoration

Considering GLP-1 medication… but nervous about what it might do to your body?
That hesitation makes total sense.
Maybe you’re thinking about starting a GLP-1 and feeling overwhelmed and confused by the conflicting stories you’ve heard.
Or maybe you’re already on one — and instead of feeling steady, nourished, and energized… you feel off.
That’s more common than people admit.
But also, the idea of white-knuckling your way through weight loss is beyond you now. You're too tired for that.
You also don’t want to feel sick, depleted, or disconnected from your body.
And you definitely don’t want to lose weight in a way that backfires the moment the medication changes or stops.
When it comes to GLP-1s, then there are the horror stories:
-
hair loss
-
muscle loss
-
relentless nausea or vomiting
-
barely being able to eat at all
So naturally, you’re wondering: what’s actually true here?
Here’s the honest answer: every medication has potential side effects — and so does leaving metabolic and hormonal dysfunction unaddressed.
The real issue isn’t GLP-1 medication itself. It’s how they are being used.
In conventional settings, dosing is often designed to move lab and scale numbers fast: A1c down, cholesterol down, weight down … without enough regard for energy, nourishment, nervous system capacity, or long-term sustainability.
GLP-1s are often being used inappropriately for:
-
metabolically healthy but obese women (who have superb labs and may not need such a high dose)
-
sensitive or neurodivergent nervous systems (who need a more personalized, nervous system-honoring approach)
-
people with compromised gut health or low reserves (who may need to go lower + slower)
And things that are super important for long-term sustainability are going unaddressed:
-
Eating for vitality and weight loss (and addressing common nutrient deficiencies during GLP-1 use)
-
True hydration (it’s so much more than water, and without it, you can feel absolutely terrible on a weight loss journey)
-
Drainage pathways (so your body can safely get rid of the fat soluble toxins you’ve been carrying around for years or decades)
-
Building, conserving, and creating healthy muscle tissue that increases energy, burns more calories at rest, and helps you live a long, healthy life
Standard dosing strategies, especially with commercially prepared medication, leave very little room for personalization. And for many of the women I work with, that’s where things go sideways.
I’ve worked with women who had to stop GLP-1s previously because they felt drained, nauseated, or disconnected from themselves. Some of them grew depressed, lost their libido, hair, and muscle. This is not okay.
And I’ve also seen those same women succeed when they restarted with a much more intentional, whole-person approach — using significantly lower doses, supporting nourishment and muscle, and honoring their body’s signals.
When GLP-1 medications are used as a tool — to reduce food noise, improve metabolic and hormonal signaling, calm inflammation, and help the body work more efficiently — they can be both effective and supportive.
But when they’re treated like a magic bullet and used to shut down appetite completely, under-eat, and chase rapid weight loss, they can absolutely be harmful.
That’s why I created Restore + Release.
This is not about forcing your body to comply; it’s about restoring stability, nourishment, and body trust so weight loss can happen in a way your body can actually maintain.
Because feeling better matters just as much as seeing the scale move.
This is why I created RESTORE + RELEASE.
What is R+R?

R+R is a truly holistic GLP-1 supported vitality-led weight loss experience for sensitive, smart, +/- neurodivergent women who are ready to finally have peace, pause, and presence with food.
No pressurized results. Only personalized systems that finally stick.
This isn’t another rigid diet program or bootcamp. This is where you:
-
Use GLP-1 medications to give you a pause with food so you can finally make different choices consistently.
-
Create systems that support your weight loss and health goals, because let's be real: if you are neurodivergent or sensitive, habits feel impossible sometimes. (Hint: it's because you're wired differently)
-
Stop harshly criticizing yourself and start lovingly nourishing yourself.
-
Cut through the noise of diet culture and discover what actually works to maintain long-term results.
In this program you will actually learn what to do ~ in a way that actually works for you ~ and receive loving, unshaming accountability and support to show up for yourself like you never have before. Yes, accountability can feel good.
Using my one-of-a-kind No More Starting Over framework, you will (finally!) understand why the other weight loss programs didn't work for you and begin to create the lasting, permanent changes that make all facets of health and life feel better.
Because we both know that weight loss is about more than a number on a scale. It's about living fully alive and savoring every moment.

After joining R+R, you will…
-
Eat and move in a way that supports your energy and vitality
-
Exit the loop of feeling trapped, exhausted, and overwhelmed when it comes to your weight loss goals
-
Feel in connection with your body (instead being trapped of in your head of mean girl thoughts and despair)
-
Build health systems that actually stick
-
Understand how to use GLP-1 meds safely + effectively, being able to attune to your body and needs, not the cookie cutter way of doing it
-
Honor your nervous system in this process so you stop swinging between chaos and rigidity
-
Feel inspired and proud of your follow-through and how you’ve taken it step-by-step – no overwhelm!
-
Lose weight sustainably, without losing your own needs in the process
Who this is for ...
✔ Women with a BMI of 25+. In order to qualify for this program, you must at least have an overweight BMI. There are some exceptions for 1:1 work (inflammatory or autoimmune conditions, for example, where microdosing may be helpful). But for this program, BMI must be 25+ due to the sensitive nature of weight loss.
✔ Smart, sensitive, or neurodivergent women who haven’t cracked the weight/energy code and want to get off the merry-go-round of ineffective treatments
✔ Those who feel like they are in an unrelenting loop of exhaustion, overstimulation, and health chaos and want a way to break the cycle
✔ Women who need gentleness and structure
✔ High-achievers burnt out on perfectionism
✔ Those ready to build sustainable body-mind-spirit health systems (because, if you’re neurodivergent, there’s a good chance that habits don’t stick)
✔ Women done with diet culture, rigid rules, and shame-based approaches
R+R isn't a great fit for you if ...
✘ Your health is at the bottom of your priority list
✘ You are wanting a quick-fix crash diet
✘ You want quick-fix solutions or weight loss at all costs
✘ You want a drill-sergeant, bootcamp vibe
✘ You have a fixed mindset or won’t commit to (gently) doing some things differently
✘ You are not willing to truly reflect on your relationship with food, exercise, and your body

HTMA is great for looking at evaluating why you feel drained or "wired + tired", potential heavy metal toxicity, stress/energy patterns, and how your cells are functioning, including how they use thyroid hormone. Schedule this visit out ~ 4-5 weeks to allow for time to receive/complete your HTMA and for me to receive results.

Consult session. We can spend some time digging deep into what you've had done, looking at all the testing you may have had, and possible ways to optimize your results. We can also use these sessions to review more in-depth labs, order additional labs, etc.
What makes R+R different from other weight loss program?

This isn’t about following rules perfectly. Green juice isn’t a thing here (unless you like it lol). And you won’t be forced to eat things you don’t like or push yourself beyond your capacity. That defeats the entire purpose.
It's also not about being overly permissive with yourself. Here, we create REAL, LASTING health changes that compound on each other, building over time, becoming part of your lifestyle. Yes, truly. Thus, no more starting over ever again! You're not striving or performing health here, on a hope and prayer, hoping one day it will stick; you're actually anchoring it deep into your body.
Restore + Release is about rewiring your physiology and lifestyle so you no longer feel trapped in the on-again/off-again cycles that demoralize you with each subsequent attempt. We will meet you where you are and empower you to come back to your center.
R+R also takes into account your individual needs. This beta program is capped at 30 amazing women (many whom you will find so much in common with!). We all been on this same weight loss merry-go-round and it's time to get off of it!
I know what it takes to permanently move the needle in your weight and it's all contained in this program designed for smart, sensitive women.
This program isn’t a traditional diet or weight loss program and doesn’t subscribe to rigid rules or dogma. You will be held accountable but never guilted or shamed.
Finally, this is truly a holistic body-mind-spirit program run by a clinically and holistically trained and trauma-informed, spiritually grounded, and human-loving soul who has walked the walk from chronic health issues to finally raising my own health standard ... I know what it takes to help you get there too. There is no substitution for my many years of training, but even more, my real, messy lived experience as someone who has spent decades reclaiming my own body + life.

Recent feedback:
"I am not even at a 'regular' dose and have lost 10 pounds. More than that, I have peace around food for the first time ever."
"This is the first time someone has told me I'm not broken or defective, that there's a reason my body is so tired."
"I thought my weight was a moral failing. No. You showed me it was a physical health problem that had gone untreated for 30+ years."
"I've never been in a program that is so customizable for each person! This is so good and I'm learning so much about myself and how to treat my body."
Rhiannon P says ...
"And then Shannon came into my life.... I'd been following her for awhile, as she shared about her journey with WHOLE health concepts, weight loss, chronic health reversal, and neurodivergence. And deciding to work with her for my whole health journey has been the BEST decision I made for myself.
She looked at my labs and health history, and explained to me that with my metabolic state currently, I wouldn't be able to clearly and accurately "hear" my internal systems for intuitive guidance for food and resources. There was still healing that needed to be done. And that getting SAFELY to a therapeutic dose on a GLP-1 would actually help me way more to achieve this goal. She met me where I was at, and didn't make me wrong for needing more support. It wasn't a moral failing to need help from a medical standpoint, AND, it could still be customized to my needs."

Shannon is an amazing person and has helped so much in my healing journey. I love her intuitive and inclusive approach that has allowed me to see myself in a different way, challenge old beliefs and heal my body and soul.
Ashley says ...
When I came to Shannon, I felt off and couldn't figure out why. I had been following her on social media for quite some time, so I decided to reach out. I hadn't really worked with a holistic practitioner before, but I had heard great things.
From my first conversation with Shannon, I felt so well taken care of! She listened – actually listened – and paid attention to the whole picture of what was going on with me. She didn't push pills at me or run basic panels. She ran a handful of thorough tests to get visibility into what was really going on with me. She explained it all to me, and then she created a customized protocol with check-ins.
I would hands-down recommend working with Shannon. She's wicked smart, grounded in science, deeply intuitive, and is genuinely committed to your healing.
Allie says ...
I have two autoimmune diseases so I’ve been to MANY doctors and none of them come close to the care I’ve received with Shannon. I came to her in March with terrible pain, GI issues, and fatigue. Fast forward to now, my pain is managed, I no longer have GI issues, and my fatigue is much better.
One of the things I love about working with Shannon is that she’s always thinking outside of the box. I’ve always had symptoms of hypothyroidism without low thyroid hormone, so Shannon tested my thyroid peroxidase antibodies and bingo! I have Hashimoto’s disease. Her helping me figure that out helped my family members also get their diagnosis. I still have a long way to go of course, but I have hope now. It’s hard to feel optimistic with chronic illness. Especially as a woman, very often our symptoms are viewed as “over exaggerated.” Shannon has helped me get back on my feet and to a better place, physically and mentally. A truly life-changing experience working with Shannon.
Who is Shannon and why should you hire her?
The bio (a.k.a. what I'm supposed to say):
Shannon Stockwell, MS, PA-C is clinically trained in conventional medicine as a PA and has also trained in holistic/functional medicine, mindbody medicine, and intrinsic coaching. She is neurodivergent (gifted, AuDHD) and can somewhat be described as a mix between a soul nurturer + a modern medicine woman + a resiliency activator, though labels are not her favorite. 😉
She loves dancing and cooking, and pretty much does both daily, often simultaneously. She has risen up from a life of trauma, loss, and pain to help women all over the United States heal their bodies, minds, and hearts, reversing chronic illness patterns, just as she has in her own body.
She lives in Plymouth, Michigan and is married to the love of her life, Troy, and has two children. She sees clients all over the USA and still holds her medical (PA) license in the state of Michigan.
Okay, cool, but this is what I (Shannon) need you to know:
1. I believe in your sensitivity and your resiliency. I believe you can transform your body-mind-spirit from the inside-out. I don't believe you are stuck, but I'm not going to convince you of that. You've got to find that fire deep inside of you. I'll fan those flames, but you've got to believe it too.
2. I am your guide and partner, not a dictator. Fierce, down-to-earth love lives here, not shame or blame. I will hear you, understand you, and be curious about your experience. I will not judge you, but I will challenge you and your beliefs. I'm not here for a half-lived life, and neither are you if you've read this far.
3. Together, we will use all.the.tools to help you heal body-mind-spirit. It takes time. It takes a way different approach than you've previously learned. I'm so here for it.
Program FAQs
❓ Why are you running this program?
↪️ Because smart, sensitive women need a different approach to weight loss. I'm tired of watching them try to do it conventional ways and running themselves into the ground. It's time to be honest that those old ways don't work. This is something that will.
❓ Who is not a suitable candidate for this program?
⚠️ This program is not suitable for insulin-dependent diabetics or those who have a personal/family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN2), or a history of pancreatitis, active gallbladder disease, or gastroparesis.
❓ Do I have to participate in the group calls or community board?
↪️ You don't, but I have found that people who use community supports in some ways do better. I know it can feel hectic and chaotic to take an hour here and there for yourself, but honestly, it's part of the process. Also, the women in my world are amazing. I hope you can meet them if you can!
❓ What does the weekly reflection forms look like?
↪️ They're 100% personalized to you and your goals (and updated at your monthly calls as needed). They'll help you reflect each week on what went well, what didn't, how to plan your week, and look out for obstacles that may impede your success. Plus, you'll get real-time 1:1 (within 24 hours) feedback, support and guidance.
❓ What if the medication doesn't work for me?
↪️ Oh my, this is such a good question, right? I mean, when we're doing something new, it's common to worry about this. The good news? We have options! As a last resort, if low/slow dosing doesn't work, we can switch to a different medication, an oral form of the medication, or a more holistic approach to help your body increase your own GLP-1. I do want you to remember this: the medication is not a magic bullet; it's a tool. And we have lots of options for support if we have to call on them! (Honestly, I've never had to take someone off microdoses, so I wouldn't worry.)
❓ What if I don't lose weight?
↪️ This is a common concern. #1, you likely will. #2, if you don't, we can look deeper. There are SO many options we have to optimize your health. I am NOT going to leave you hanging. I also want you to remember that we are going for long-term wins here and if you have significant metabolic syndrome, it might take longer and that is normal. We are here to support you through frustration, wins, and everything in between.
❓ What are benefits of GLP-1s other than weight loss?
↪️ So, so many! Decreased inflammation, autoimmunity, decreased substance misuse (alcohol, drugs), generally improved mental health, better use of energy in your body, less brain fog. The list goes on and on. Some people even say, "I would totally stay on this even if I didn't lose another pound."
❓ What are the side effects?
↪️ There are always risks and benefits to every peptide, supplement, hormone, or drug. Tirzepatide is no different. In general, used appropriately with supervision, Tirzepatide is safe. Side effects are generally dose-dependent and we will always go low + slow here.. Always report adverse effects and seek medical care if required. Even at the highest doses, few people drop out due to side effects.
Common side effects, especially with higher doses: nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, decreased appetite, fatigue.
Less common side effects, especially with higher doses: indigestion/dyspepsia, abdominal pain, injection site reactions, hypoglycemia, GERD, dizziness, allergic reactions, gallstones, low blood pressure, hair loss, acute kidney injury due to dehydration, depression, increased anxiety, suicidal ideation, pancreatitis, fast heart rate, sweating, vision changes, bowel obstruction/ileus, gastroparesis, muscle loss, worsening of diabetic retinopathy, thyroid tumors (only seen in animal studies, not humans; newer research showing less concern)
Sounds scary, right? Remember: low + slow to minimize side effects and maximize your results. Always do your research.
❓ How long will the initial medication vial last?
↪️ In Michigan, the vial may last 45-90 days. Some compounding pharmacies say to discard after 28-40 days. However, the medication is carefully compounded in a sterile compounding pharmacy, and as long as proper technique is used when drawing up and administering medication, risk of contamination is low. Newer testing conducted by Orderly Meds show that the medication remained safe and effective for up to 365 days from the date of compounding. If you are outside of Michigan or order from Orderly Meds, you will receive a 3+ supply.
❓ Will I have to be on this medication for the rest of my life?
↪️ It depends on your goals. I believe (and have witnessed) that, when done correctly with appropriate dosing + habit changes, you can rewire your metabolism, habits, and patterns so that you don't have to be. That said, some studies do show weight regain, other studies show that some people continue to lose weight when they go off of GLP-1 medications. The difference is likely whether the person used the medication as a tool vs. a bandaid to just stop them from eating crap. We are using this as a tool to help you reduce your chronic disease, cardiovascular risks, address your metabolic health, and reduce inflammation so you can have the lifestyle you’ve always wanted to have. Additionally, let’s just stay focused on now. In the future, after you are metabolically healed, you may be able to go off of it entirely or even cycle it. So no, I don’t believe you have to stay on it the rest of your life, but that is personalized and dependent on your goals and underlying conditions.
❓ How will I feel after the injection?
↪️ You may feel nothing, more energized, or more tired. We start low + slow to see how you feel. Generally the first day, some people notice extra burps or struggles with heavier/fattier food. So many recommend eating light on that day.
❓ How fast can I expect to lose weight?
↪️ It depends on a lot of factors. Clinical trials show up to a 22.5% loss of total body weight with Tirzepatide, which, for a 200 pound person, is approximately 45 pounds and for a 300 pound person is approximately 67.5 pounds. Your experience may be more or less. First, remember that we are using this medication to treat the inflammation and cravings/habits/food noise that is causing distress. The weight loss WILL come. If you have been eating a diet high in refined carbohydrates, you will likely lose a lot of water weight the first week or two. After that, we want about 0.5-2 pounds of fat loss or no more than 1% of your body weight per week. Any expectation of higher than this weight loss is setting yourself up for failure.
❓ What if I hate exercising?
↪️ I get it. When we don’t feel great in our bodies, exercise is hard. Plus, you throw in the diet culture mentality of more is better and it's just one more thing on our to-do list. So we start low and slow, just like with this medication. It is really important to maintain your muscle mass. If exercise just hurts too much in the beginning, let’s give the medicine some time to work on inflammation and then revisit it. Even a few squats (sitting down and getting up from a chair), wall push ups, other bodyweight exercises count!
❓ Who should not take Tirzepatide?
↪️ Those with a history of thyroid cancer or MEN2 syndrome, pancreatitis, acute gallbladder attacks, or an allergic reaction to something in Tirzepatide. Caution is recommended with severe gut issues due to the decreased motility from the drug. I will not personally prescribe the medication for insulin-dependent diabetics.
❓ I’ve heard my stomach can become paralyzed with GLP-1 medication. Is this true?
↪️ The most common gastroparesis (stomach paralysis) risk is with diabetic patients due to nerve damage from prolonged high blood sugars. It is likely those that developed the gastroparesis were actually on the verge and had compromised motility already from diabetes itself, not directly from the medication. Moreover, the gastroparesis generally resolved itself after discontinuation of the medication. And yet, another reason to go low and slow, just on the off chance something happens.
❓ If I have my gallbladder, am I going to need surgery?
↪️ Anytime there is rapid weight loss, you risk gallbladder disease. It doesn’t matter whether you’re taking Tizepatide, you have weight loss surgery, taking another drug, or are going the natural route. We need to be eating a healthy, whole foods based diet including some healthy fats to stimulate the gallbladder. Additionally, I do recommend eating bitter foods and vinegars/citrus to promote bile flow. If we do this the right way, you should be able to keep your gallbladder.
❓ Can I use my insurance?
↪️ Some insurances cover Zepbound for weight loss. The issue with that is that you have to dose it at standard dosing and do not have the flexibility of the compounded medication. Sensitive women OFTEN need personalized dosing. Additionally, even if insurance covers it, copays and deductibles can sometimes be much higher than the compounded version. Finally, some prescribers (and even insurance companies) jack up doses too fast and create far more issues. I personally do NOT order namebrand medication and only use compound. That said, if you want to use your insurance and have your doctor order the namebrand, you can still do the "out of state" program that does not include medication ordering.
❓ What labs do you want to see? Do I have to do these prior to starting?
↪️ CBC, CMP, Hb A1c, fasting insulin, lipid panel, TSH, and HS-CRP are highly recommended, though not required if you've had lab work within the past year. Obviously, these are not health optimization labs, but at least cover kidneys, liver, electrolytes, thyroid gland stimulation, and insulin/metabolic health. If you have these (or most of these), great! We can also order them through Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp for generally around $60-80. You can start the medication prior to the labs if you'd like, but we can generally get them ordered quickly. There's a good chance they will improve down the road, so it's nice to see that happen by getting them prior to the medication.
❓ What if I want other functional medicine testing such as a hair tissue mineral analysis, DUTCH hormone test, food sensitivity testing, and so on?
↪️ These are available and results/review sessions are discounted for this program. You will need to schedule additional sessions for review (at a discounted rate of $250). I decided not to include this in this program because sometimes, we just need to start with the basics and build from there.
❓ What if I'm outside the state of Michigan or I'm already on a GLP-1 but want additional support?
↪️ No worries! As long as you're in the United States, purchase the other RESTORE + RELEASE out-of-state package that includes medication recommendation guidance, but does not include the medication. I can help you get the medication really easily (through different channels depending on your state). I welcome anyone who is already on a GLP-1 but struggling with consistency, habits, or wanting to create thriving health. You're welcome here!
